Serotonin is another hormone that plays an important role in the sleep-wake cycle, it builds up during the day, being exposed to sunlight also helps produce the hormone, and it gets used up at night. Sometimes people wake up depressed because they’re depleted of this hormone, which also regulates feelings of well-being. It’s interesting that melatonin appears to have a similar pattern. Many medications can also interfere with sleep, so people need to watch out for that…

If you want to know more about sleep and sleep disorder, you could buy a A level (UK) A2 grade book of psychology, and you will see the psych and some bio of it which will help you sleep as you learn how to change your sleep hygiene, and what insomnia really is. I’m studying this at the moment and it’s very interesting.

Hi So when I sit still a long time or when i’m trying to go to sleep, my legs feel jumpy like i just got to move them. If i can i run around the back yard or run in the place for a while. but that doesn’t help. I’m 14 so i don’t know if this video relates to me, like if i could get one or if i’m too young. i don’t have problems sleeping but i don’t know what it is. thanks

Try not to drink too much in the hour before bedtime. Also, when you go to the bathroom, try to do without turning on any lights. Staying the darkness will help you fall back asleep.

Try to remember when this pain surfaces, that it happened in the past and that you are safe now and have so much to be thankful for and don’t let the past ruin the present.
