0 Adrenaline Cure for Chronic Insomniahttp://www.kconnolly.net – (Yes, the picture should be dark) – The only thing that has ever been effective at waking me up is adrenaline. I need a sudden shock of noise and light. Lo and behold, someone went and designed an alarm clock that actually wakes me up.

Just bringing me out of sleep isn’t enough. It has to WAKE ME UP. I believe this alarm clock will be able to do that.

    i think most insomnia patients can be cured by just exercising couple of hours a day and staying away from caffeine. when you get really really tired you fall asleep as soon as you go to bed. and being a software developer doesn’t really help it. i remember when i had part time job, i use to come home and straight to bed, i use to fall asleep in 10 seconds. buy a treadmill and run an hour a day, you’ll fall asleep without taking any pills and you’ll fell refreshed when you wake up.

    that’s a really cool alarm clock, I would use one of those, if only my wife slept in the next room :)

  5. I use an iPhone app …
    I use an iPhone app called WakeMe which uses the accelerometer in the device to detect when you are sleeping the lightest (within a 30minute window) through your tossing and turning and wakes you up feeling less “groggy.” Didn’t seem to work at first but it needs to be calibrated first. It also graphs movement in your sleep. I find this very useful because It’s always so hard for me to fall asleep and I need to feel fresh in the morning.
    Perhaps it’s just a placebo but it seems to work for me.

    I think it’s definitely going to help. As an insomniac myself, I know how hard it is to fall asleep and wake up at reasonable times without feeling like complete shit. It seems effective, but I would not be able to deal with the way that the setup looks being as picky as I am about the decor of my bedroom.
