Its been weeks since Ive had a normal nights sleep. Ive tried OTC anti-histamines as well as natural herbs. I was also prescribed Ambian which did nothing for me.
They not only do not work they seem to enhance my mood and make me more alert. For the last three days Ive had maybe 6 hours of good sleep. I have plenty of exercise during the day and I eat right and I don’t drink caffeine.
I just seem to never tire but I’m always tired.
Med’s Ive tried thus far:
AmbianXR
Unisom-X2 or 4
NyQuil- few gulps
sleepytime tea-two or so bags
plenty of exercise and good sex with my husband
I really dont wanna over do it but this insomea thing really sucks! Does anyone have any ideas?
Im 23 years old and in good health if that helps. I do have a heart condition and an AICD implantation and I take beta-blockers daily.
I forgot to add that I also tried melatonin which also didnt help.
because you have a heart condition and are on beta blockers you need to check with your medical practitioner.
my son was once put on a medication for allergies and was meant to possibly slow him down and even make him sleepy. it had the exact opposite affect and he became extremely jittery and over the top.
please (in view of your medical condition) do not take any medications without your doctors knowledge because they can sometimes react against each other and cause a completely different effect.
i have heard that a warm drink of chocolate/cocoa/ovaltine/milo etc, sweetened and made with milk works. safe and worth a try.
you may need to see a sleep therapist.
