I have been taking these pain pills for my injury on my rib and I am up all night and cannot get to sleep. Anyone have a solution?
Sleep disturbance is a possible side effect from percocet. It depends on why you think you can’t sleep. If you don’t think you can sleep because it’s too painful then it might be worth going back to your doctor and getting stronger pain relief. If you aren’t in pain and don’t know why you can’t sleep, then you could try cutting down on the painkillers and see if it helps (without being in excessive pain so that you can’t sleep) or using non-opiod painkillers instead such as acetaminophen alone or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Other causes of insomnia should also be thought about, such as poor sleep patterns (i.e. not getting up and going to bed at same time, sleeping during the day), using your bedroom for activities other than sleep, or consuming caffeine/alcohol close to bedtime. Hope this helps.
