What Do You Do For Your Insomnia?

Have you found some way to get to sleep when you have an episode of insomnia? Serious replies only, please. I really need the help. Thanks.
P.S. I am most hoping for solutions that do not involve drugs (like ambien or benadryl).

You must discover what causes the insomnia before you can combat it. Are you under stress? If not, look toward your diet. Do you eat or drink any products containing caffeine. you might be surprised. Start reading the lables.Do you work out? 45 minutes at least three times a week might help. I had insominia because I worked nights for 7 years. The week that I stopped , My sleeping pattern returned to normal. Except for tonight, It’s now 2:36 am.But I’m awoke because I took a long nap during the afternoon. A big no no!!! So I repeat, If you know why your having bouts of insominia ‘it’s easier to cambat it.

  1. I hear the best cure for insomnia is to get a lot of sleep.

    ok all kidding aside. try a few glasses of wine and or Beer. also eating Turkey works quite well. remember after thanksgiving dinner????

    also you could get some melotonin fron your local nutrisionalist it is the chemical your body naturally produces to induce sleep so it is harmless to the body.

  2. Personally, when I can’t sleep, I pray. Become in deep silence and pray sincerely and devotedly for a long while, concentrating on the pure things of God. Usually, this will help you relax, and consequently your mind will be at ease to get some rest.

  4. You should definitely try this. If you are unable to sleep one night, don’t go to bed when you are finally sleepy in the morning or afternoon…even if the urge is really high. Go outside, do something active, listen to peppy music, talk to people etc. I know it will be a difficult day but just keep yourself busy. When nighttime comes around, then you can go to bed at a good hour.

    I think this is a useful thing to follow – get up at the same time each day, regardless of how much sleep you have gotten.

  5. A cold shower after a hard workout helps. Once you are in bed, turn off the tv and read. You have to fall sleep after all this.

  6. Drink warm milk before you go bed. Do something really boring like reading before you get ready to sleep.
